Patricia S. Meisner, Director and CEO
Patricia brings 25 years of executive operating experience from both early stage and mature companies in the medical device, diagnostics, life science companies, including Invitrogen, T Cell Sciences and Sigma Aldrich Corporation. She has brought multiple new products to market in the areas of HIV monitoring; cancer diagnostics, pharmaceutical drug discovery and managed international distribution. Prior to founding ActualMeds , Patricia founded RedTail Solutions, a Software as a Service (SaaS) company serving middle-market manufacturers in the global supply chain, acquired by High Jump Software. While serving as its CEO (2000-2008), she established a new revenue and business model in this segment and built a capital-efficient business that achieved profitability in 2007. Patricia holds a B.A. degree in Biology from Kenyon College, an M.S. in Biochemistry from Youngstown State University and an M.B.A. from Case Western Reserve University.
Robert Patricelli, Director
Bob Patricelli has been a leader in the health care industry for almost 40 years. Bob is currently the founder, chairman and CEO of Women’s Health USA. He also founded and was CEO successively of Value Health (NYSE) and of Evolution Benefits, and prior to that headed Cigna Corporation’s health care programs including its HMOs in the 1980’s. Previously, Mr. Patricelli held appointments in numerous positions in the federal government, starting as a White House Fellow and serving as Minority Counsel to a U.S. Senate Subcommittee, Deputy Under Secretary for Policy at the Department of Health, Education and Welfare, and as Administrator of the Urban Mass Transportation Administration. He has served on numerous national and local boards of directors, including service on the board of Northeast Utilities and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. He is a member of the Institute of Medicine and a graduate of Harvard Law School and Wesleyan University.
Michael A. Stocker, Director
Dr. Mike Stocker has been an exceptional healthcare leader throughout his career and brings experience and perspectives to ActualMeds from both Payer and Provider segments. Currently he is on the Board of Montefiore Medical Center. Just prior to that he served as Chairman of the Board for New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation from 2008 -2014. He is well known as the former President and CEO of Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield who guided its transformation to a publicly traded company in 2002; and that was eventually acquired by Wellpoint in 2005 where he continued to operate the East Region for them. Wellpoint is comprised of 14 Blue Cross and Blue Shield Plans across the country. He also served as President and CEO of Cigna Health Plan. Mike began his career practicing medicine for a dozen years , Board certified in Internal Medicine and Family Practice, before assuming positions as Medical Director at two Health Plans. Over the years he has served on many Boards, including corporations, non-profits, New York City charitable foundations and early stage companies. Mike received his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame, his MD degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin and an MPH from the University of Michigan.
Bob Leary, Director
Bob Leary brings operating and development experience for Software as a Service solutions in healthcare, as well as the experience associated with selling to both Payers and Providers- all of great importance to ActulaMeds. He has more than a quarter century of experience in fostering the design and development of computerized techniques and strategies for managing and utilizing healthcare data. Leary participated in the development of Diagnosis Related Groups (DRGs) at Yale University and directed the implementation of some of the first commercially available systems that used DRGs as a basis for measuring case mix. Based on this, Bob co-founded HSS, which merged with Ingenix and was eventually acquired by United Healthcare. Prior to founding HSS, Leary served as Vice President of Research and Development for HCIA, Inc. (now Solucient), HSS’ former parent company. In this capacity, he was responsible for directing the development of new techniques, methodologies and databases for managing health care. Leary has authored numerous articles for leading industry publications including Advance for Health Information Executives.He holds a BA from Southern Connecticut State University and an MPH from the Yale University School of Medicine.
Peter Longo, Director
Peter Longo is a senior managing director of investments at Connecticut Innovations, Inc. (CI) and has spent nearly 22 years in numerous roles at CI. Peter is currently responsible for evaluating investment opportunities, structuring investments and monitoring portfolio companies at CI. Peter currently serves on the board of: ActualMeds, Aeromics, Continuity Control, Device42, ETouches and Payveris. Peter’s past CI investments include: Achillion Pharmaceuticals (IPO), Cardium Health (acquired by Centene), CYA Technologies (acquired by enChoice), NeuVis (acquired by Rational Software), Nufern (acquired by Rofin-Sinar), SecBI,SilverSky (acquired by BAE Systems) , PCC Technology Group (acquired by Clearview Capital) and Post-N-Track.
Peter also serves on the board of the YEI Innovation Fund, the UConn Prototype Fund and serves on the UConn Patent review committee.
Patrick Murphy, Director
Patrick Murphy is CFO of CleanSlate Centers, a national medical group which provides treatment for the chronic disease of addiction, primarily opioid and alcohol use disorders. He possesses an extensive background in both financial and operational leadership positions, and has been highly involved with health care and high growth organizations. Before joining CleanSlate, Patrick was Co-Founder of Women’s Health USA, which provides business and strategic services to physicians in women’s healthcare. Patrick held several positions at this national company including CFO, COO, and President. Murphy was also a Founder and Executive Vice President of Evolution1, one of the nation’s largest healthcare solutions companies. He is a Certified Public Accountant and serves as a member of the Connecticut Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Kevin Blank, Director
Kevin Blank has over 35 years of senior management experience in a range of healthcare technology and health services businesses, including businesses in multisite healthcare services, from retail medicine and physician practice management to payor services such as healthcare informatics, payment processing, SAAS technology, and population management. He was most recently the CEO of FastMed Urgent Care, the second largest independent urgent care operator in the U.S. and fifth overall. During his tenure, FastMed grew from nine clinics to 87 clinics and had an annual revenue CAGR of 45% over the course of three years prior to being acquired by ABRY Partners. Kevin has extensive healthcare operational experiences across a broad spectrum of opportunities, particularly in payor services and multisite services.He works with Gryphon Investors, a 22 year old PE firm whose latest fund was $1.1 billion, as Health Care Operating Partner and serves on the Gryphon Advisor Board. He is a Board member of IntraAmerican Medical Centers, Women’s Health USA, D & S Community, and AccualMeds and is a guest lecturer at Boston University School of Management.
